USA Hockey and the Coaching Education Program require both certification and registration to be eligible to coach. Registration is done online on a yearly basis. Certification is also required.
All USA Hockey Requirements must be completed before participating in any team activities.
If you currently have your CEP, it is vital that you make sure it does not expire by December 31st of the current year you are coaching. If it does you will need to register for a clinic to update your certification. If you do not, you will not be eligible to coach after December 31st, excluding you from all activities including games and state playoffs.
Additionally you will need the proper age specific USA coaching module completed for the team level you are coaching.
All fees associated are reimbursable for our staff and should be part of the teams yearly budget.

Victory Honda AAA Hockey and MAHA require all on-ice personnel and volunteers to complete the Items below before December 31, 2024. Complete all required forms, accreditations, screenings, and programs that apply to you and submit proof of completion to VH administration.

Register with USA Hockey
Required BEFORE taking the ice for practice.
USA Hockey registration is required for all coaches who take the ice. This registration provides you with insurance that helps cover medical expenses in the event of a hockey related injury.
Background Check & Coaching Ethics
Required BEFORE taking the ice for practice.
Background checks are done securely through the National Screening Program (NCSI).
The cost is $30.
Age Specific Modules
Required BEFORE taking the ice for practice.
Complete the USA Hockey Coaching Module for the age division you are coaching. Coaches must be current members of USA Hockey in order to register for the modules.
USA Coaching Clinic Registration
Required by December 31, 2025.
Must be current and coaches must level up from the previous year. Ex. if a coach was a level one in the 2023-2024 season, the coach must advance to level two for the 2024-2025 season.
